This is an original acrylic painting done on canvas of the famous Frank Lloyd wright Building.

When studying Frank Lloyd Wright in architecture class, I was told that for this building, he used the forms already in nature...specifically, the natural stone slabs...and used those forms to help him design the building. Later in my school days, I took inspiration from this idea with my painting and drawing style, in which I took buildings and abstracted my trees to have an architectural look in order to give a more cohesive feel.

I recently revisited this idea and did a culminating larger painting using some of the aspects of this painting, with a few new design elements. That new version is available in larger sizes, so check my images for that version if larger sizes interest you. It is titled "Fallingwaters."

I mostly work in acrylics, oil pastels and wood. I call my style Claritysm, as unclear confusion frustrates me and gives me grief. So with my art, I try to pin reality down in a very clear and concrete way. I also like to have upbeat, positive energy to my art as I do not want bring others down with my art. My art tries to provide what I have had trouble finding in my own life. I hope that my art can make your life better as well. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UW-Oshkosh in 1994. Drawing and Applied Design were my two areas of emphasis. Any image here is also available as a personally signed and titled matte paper print...in two paper sizes with 3/4" border around.
